THE MARATHON COURSE
The Rivanna Greenbelt Marathon is a Boston Qualifier, officially certified by the USATF (VA14004TR). The course is 6.5 "loops" of the 4-mile out-and-back trail beginning at Riverview Park and following along the river on the Rivanna Greenbelt Trail. This is a fairly flat course with only 8 ft of elevation gain and 22 feet of elevation loss per "loop". Minimum elevation is 307 feet; maximum elevation is 327 feet.
THE HALF MARATHON COURSE
The half is the same as the marathon except it is 3.25 "loops" of the 4-mile out-and-back trail and the final turnaround is .55 miles from the start/finish.
There is a 5.5 hour time limit on the course.

The Rivanna Conservation Alliance was established on January 1, 2016 through a merger between the Rivanna Conservation Society and StreamWatch.
The Rivanna Conservation Alliance (RCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit watershed organization created to provide the community with a set of tools and programs specifically designed to help clean and protect the Rivanna River and its tributaries.
Our Vision: We envision a healthy Rivanna River and watershed that benefits an engaged community.
Our Mission: Working with the community to conserve the Rivanna River and its tributaries through monitoring, restoration, education, and advocacy.
